ChinFiller
FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler for chin augmentation — improving profile, balancing the lower face, and adding projection without surgery. From $500 per syringe. Lasts 12-24 months.

A profile change
that looks like you
Chin filler isn't right for everyone. Here's how I evaluate candidacy and what realistic results look like.
Mild-to-moderate chin recession
Your chin sits behind your lower lip in profile and you want more projection without committing to surgery. Filler is the right starting point.
Lower-face balance concerns
Your chin reads small relative to your nose or forehead and the imbalance bothers you. Chin filler can rebalance the lower third of your face.
Facial harmony / proportion goals
You're thinking about overall proportions, not just one feature. Chin filler often pairs into a broader facial balancing plan.
Want reversibility
Surgical implants are permanent. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if you don't like the result. That optionality matters for first-time patients.
Not for severe skeletal recession
If your chin is significantly recessed due to underlying bone structure, a chin implant or genioplasty may give better long-term results. I'll be honest if I think you're a better surgical candidate.
Not for active jowling
If your lower face has significant skin laxity or jowls, chin filler alone won't fix that — you may need lifting work that isn't injectable. We'll discuss this at your appointment.
Conservative first,
add at follow-up
Chin filler is one of the highest-impact filler treatments in the menu — a small amount of product, placed correctly, can shift how your whole profile reads. That same leverage works in the wrong direction if a provider over-corrects, which is why my default is to start with one syringe and stage a second visit only if you want more.
I use FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler specifically indicated for chin augmentation. The exact product is selected based on how much structure you need — firmer, more cohesive HA gels hold projection at the chin better than softer ones. We confirm the choice at your appointment so you know what's being injected.
Every chin filler appointment is administered by me, Helen Petrov, BSN, RN, under the medical direction of our medical director, following Washington State protocols for RN-delegated aesthetic injections. Hyaluronidase is kept on-site to reverse vascular complications immediately if they occur.
$500
Most patients start with one syringe and assess at the 2-week follow-up. A second syringe can be added at a separate appointment if more projection is wanted.
12-24 months
Chin filler outlasts lip filler because the chin moves much less. Most patients return for a small touch-up rather than a full restart.
Botox + facial plan
Often combined with masseter Botox ($11/unit) for jaw refinement, or built into a full facial balancing plan.
Structure deep at the bone.
Visible profile change.
Chin filler uses FDA-approved hyaluronic acid gel — a smooth, biocompatible filler placed deep on the chin bone (supraperiosteal) to add forward projection and round out the lower face. Several HA products are FDA-approved specifically for chin augmentation; the exact product is chosen at your appointment based on how much structure you need.
Unlike a chin implant — which requires surgery, anesthesia, and weeks of recovery — chin filler is in-and-out in about 30 minutes with same-day return to normal activity. And if you decide you don't like the result, the filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. That reversibility is one of the main reasons it's a good starting point for first-time patients considering chin augmentation.
Every chin filler treatment at Flawless Aesthetics is administered by Helen Petrov, BSN, RN under medical direction. Vascular complications are rare but possible in this area, which is why I aspirate before injecting, use blunt cannula near the jawline border, and keep hyaluronidase ready on-site.
A 30-minute visit.
A bigger profile shift than you'd guess.
Here's exactly how a chin filler appointment runs — and what you can plan around after.
- 01
Profile assessment
I'll photograph your profile and look at chin projection relative to your lower lip and nasal tip. We'll talk about how much projection you want and how subtle vs. obvious you want the change to be. If you're better served by a chin implant referral, I'll tell you honestly.
- 02
Numbing
Topical anesthetic applied for 15-20 minutes. All the chin fillers I use contain integrated lidocaine, so you'll get a second wave of numbing the moment product enters tissue.
- 03
Injection
Small, deliberate deposits placed deep at the chin bone (supraperiosteal) for structural projection, with cannula technique used near the jawline border to reduce vascular risk. I aspirate before every injection. The actual treatment time is 15-20 minutes for one syringe.
- 04
Walk out
Some swelling and tenderness, possibly mild bruising. You can drive home and return to a desk job same-day. The shape you see leaving the office isn't the final shape — swelling masks the true result for the first 5-7 days.
Most of my chin filler patients drive in from Renton, Kent, Tukwila, Bellevue, Kirkland, or Issaquah. The appointment fits inside a long lunch, but plan on visible swelling for 24-48 hours afterward.
Manage swelling.
Let it settle.
First 24 hours
- Sleep with your head elevated to reduce swelling.
- Apply ice on/off (10 minutes at a time) the day of treatment.
- Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the chin.
- No strenuous exercise — elevated blood pressure increases swelling and bruising.
Days 2-7
- No alcohol, no saunas, no hot yoga — vasodilation makes swelling worse.
- Skip dental appointments for the first 1-2 weeks.
- Avoid sleeping face-down or pressing the chin into a pillow.
- Mild bruising can be color-corrected with concealer after day 2.
Weeks 2-4
- Sun protection daily — SPF 30+ on the lower face.
- Resume normal skincare and active ingredients (retinol, vitamin C) by week 2.
- Book your complimentary 2-week follow-up so we can assess and add product if needed.
- Touch-ups should always wait until swelling has fully resolved (minimum 14 days).
If you see significant pain disproportionate to the procedure, white or grayish skin discoloration anywhere on the chin or jaw, or any vision changes, contact me immediately at (206) 739-7309 — these are signs of vascular complication that need immediate attention. Hyaluronidase is on-site to dissolve filler emergently if needed.
The shape settles
over two weeks.
- Day 0
Immediate change
You'll see chin projection right away, but the shape isn't final — swelling adds 20-30% volume that will resolve over the next week. Don't judge the result yet.
- Days 3-5
Peak swelling resolves
Most swelling is down by day 5. Bruising may be color-shifting from purple to yellow/green if it appeared.
- Day 14
Final shape visible
This is when I book your follow-up. The filler has integrated with tissue and the shape is reliable. If we want to add a small touch-up, we plan it now.
- Months 1-6
Settled result
Most patients are happy with one syringe; some prefer to come back at 4-6 weeks to add a second syringe for more projection. The product looks the same throughout this window.
- Months 12-24
Maintenance window
Chin filler typically lasts longer than lip filler because the chin moves less. Most patients book a small touch-up in the second year rather than starting over.
Want to address more than just the chin? A chin syringe is often the first step in a broader facial balancing plan that addresses chin, cheeks, jawline, and proportion together. Or pair with masseter Botox if you want jaw slimming alongside chin projection. I'll lay out the options at your consultation.
Questions & Answers
Chin filler at Flawless Aesthetics in Renton starts at $500 per syringe. Most patients need 1-2 syringes depending on how much projection they want and how recessed the chin currently is. I'll review your profile at the start of your appointment and recommend volume honestly — sometimes one syringe is enough, sometimes I'll suggest staging a second visit 2-4 weeks later.
Chin filler typically lasts 12-24 months — significantly longer than lip filler. That's because the chin moves much less than the lips, so the hyaluronic acid product stays put. Most patients book a small touch-up in the second year rather than starting over from scratch.
I use FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler approved specifically for chin augmentation. The exact product is selected based on your anatomy and how much projection you need — firmer, more cohesive products work best at the chin because they hold structure. We'll confirm the choice at your appointment.
Chin filler is often described as lower-risk because the midline of the chin has fewer major blood vessels than the lip area. That said, the chin is not a no-risk zone — the facial artery, submental artery, and mental nerve all run nearby. I inject slowly, in small amounts, and aspirate or use a blunt cannula in higher-risk zones. Hyaluronidase is on-site to reverse any vascular complication immediately if needed.
Not when done conservatively. A good chin filler result improves your side profile and balances your lower face without changing the front view much. The goal is for friends to notice you look more polished without being able to pinpoint why. I always under-fill first and add at the 2-week follow-up if you want more — adding is easy, taking away is harder.
Yes, for mild-to-moderate chin retrusion. FDA pivotal trials for chin-approved fillers showed 86% of patients were satisfied at 12 weeks. For severe skeletal recession, a chin implant or genioplasty may be more appropriate — I'll be honest if I think you're a better fit for a surgical consult, and refer accordingly.
Most patients have mild swelling and tenderness for 3-5 days and possible bruising up to 1-2 weeks. You can go back to work the same day. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and saunas for 24-48 hours. The final shape is visible by day 14, which is when I book your complimentary follow-up.
